About Us - Outer Island Food and Water Project

Improving Food & Water Security in Kiribati
The Outer Island Water and Food Project is an IFAD funded Project with the aim to Improve Water and Food Security within the Rural Islands of Kiribati. The Outer Island Food and Water Project (OIFWP) came into force in September 2014. Targeting the four outer islands of Abemama, Beru, North Tabiteuea and Nonouti, OIFWP promotes improved household food security and nutrition as well as clean water through rainwater harvesting and community planning and action activities. OIFWP aims to reach the entire population with a specific focus on women and young people.

What we do

We deliver specialised solutions for outer island communities in Kiribati. Our extensive experience allow us to adapt regional customs and preferences, to help improve and maintain Food, Nutrition and Water Security.

With funding from regional organisations such IFAD under the guidance of the Government of Kiribati, Our Team are specifically chosen for their expertise in resolving problems and improving livelihood security on the Outer Islands.
